Welcome to the new AppFog World HQ
When we moved into the AppFog office on SW 3rd Avenue in Portland just over a year ago, the company had six employees and we were still working on getting our first product into general availability.
The office was small, but it was real. It was downtown Portland. It was in an office building. It was a big step for us.
Fast forward sixteen months and our first product, PHP Fog, has been available for over a year. Our second product, AppFog, is now in Public Beta and getting an amazing response. And we’ve grown to over 30 employees.
As you can imagine, our first office downtown was getting to feel a lot like a flop house. With six people, it was roomy. At twelve, it was cozy. But at thirty, well, the place had started to feel like a Darwinian fight for elbow room. And people were evolving all kinds of clever ways to have meetings, make conference calls, and just get work done.
And so we moved our office to a larger space here:
We’re still in Portland (of course).
We’re still downtown (in fact we’re less than a block away).
But now we have enough space for everyone to have their own desks, there is enough meeting space for more than one meeting at a time, and people won’t have to do conference calls outside. Plus, we have enough space so that we can start doing our very own meetups and the like.
You cannot imagine how excited we are about this!
In fact, you should really come by and say “hi.” We’re at 319 SW Washington Street, 7th Floor. We’d love to see you!
So, let’s take a tour, shall we?
First, here is a photo from the old office. Yes, it was as crowded as this photo cropping would have you believe:
And now, the new office…

Look at all the space!

Collaborating on the next big thing:
With great office comes great responsibility.
Really, not too bad on the cordage.
We’re really excited about the new office as you can tell.
We’ll be hosting more meetups now, and would love visits from any and all of our users!
